These things could help you move on after divorce

There is no doubt that divorce can be a major life-altering event in your life. If you ever need a bit of a distraction, it's when you're divorcing and after it is final.

For one woman with a 1-year-old son, getting used to being a single mom was tough. She made sure she surrounded herself with things and people she loved. She has since remarried, but here are some of things that made her happy after her divorce.

-- The Quote: She found one quote that she could look at that summed up the way she felt: "Everything is going to be OK in the end. If it's not OK, it's not the end." It helped her remember that while each day may feel like the end, her life wasn't over.

-- The Food: Her soul food after her divorce was Clif bars and Cafe Rio chicken burritos. Find food that makes you happy, but remember the next point, too.

-- The Distraction: The gym was her distraction. She wasn't a gym rat to begin with, but she found she grew stronger and made her realized that she was capable of doing hard things.

-- The List: She made a list of happy things because she was having trouble focusing on them. Some of them were very important to her, like her child and her family. Some really weren't that important but made her happy, like thunderstorms with the window open and chicken wings.

While divorce isn't easy, you can find ways to power through it. A divorce attorney who has your best interests at heart can help.
